Hartstikke lente

Precies in het eerste weekend dat de lente begon waren de tekenen ervan overal te zien. Bepaalde bomen en struiken hadden al knoppen gekregen, maar op zaterdag 20 maart, de dag dat de lente dit jaar echt inging, waren er typische lente-taferelen.

De dag begon met hele lichte mist en een prachtige zonsopkomst. In het land achter ons huis zag ik een groep hazen en eendenkoppels.

Rammelende hazen en een mannetjeseend

Een groep hazen rende achter elkaar aan. Rammelende hazen wordt dat genoemd. De mannetjes rennen achter elkaar én één vrouwtje aan. De eend ging op zoek naar zijn vrouwtje. Die zat verderop bij de bramenstruik op hem te wachten. Het mannetje liep recht door het tafereel heen.

In de week erna hoorde ik heel hoog gepiep toen ik in de tuin zat. Het leek op muizen, maar toen ik het opzocht, leek het toch om iets anders te gaan. Ik wist niet wat het was en kon niet dichtbij komen. Daarom fotografeerde ik het van een afstand. Tot mijn verbazing ging het om het vuurgoudhaantje. Een vogeltje net zo klein als het goudhaantje. Deze had onze tuin in het najaar bezocht, maar het vuurgoudhaantje is anders. Deze heeft een witte wenkbrauwenstreep en het geluid dat het maakt is hoger. Een paar dagen erna zie en hoor ik het niet meer. Hij is gevlogen.
